Description

The APS3 global suite produces verification results - both forecast-vs-analysis and forecast-vs-observations. VerPy is a Python library that is used to read verification results and produce plots. Note that in the past VER's IDL routines were used to produce plots but now this plotting function is taken over by VerPy.

UKMO is planning to make MOSRS VerPy repository available to collaboration partners in mid-2016. In the meantime the development of the APS3 global suite must go on, which means we need to run VER and VerPy in order to assess the quality of forecasts from the APS3 global suite. This ticket describes the procedure used in importing the VerPy beta version (version 0.8) into the access-svn utils repository. It also describes the procedure used to install the VerPy library on Raijin.
